A Night of Light & Love
Saint Patrick’s Day Drive By Food Drive
The church had a Sock Drive during the month of January and collected approximately 300 pairs of socks! They were also able to collect 74 pairs of gloves & mittens. These items were given to a church in Boston where they were distributed to homeless people on the Boston Common, some other Boston homeless communities and to homeless people on the South Shore.
There will be A Night of Light & Love on February 14th. Join us for the illumination of approximately 150 luminary bags on the front lawn of the church. Many of these bags will have names written on them both in memory of loved ones who have died and in celebration of loved ones still living. All of the luminaries will also have a prayer attached written by the Sunday school children. It will be a night of light, love and peace. The luminary display is postponed until March 20 due to unfavorable February weather conditions for the luminary bags.

As a parish, we seek to act in response to Christ’s words, “Whatever you do for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you do for me.” Each of us serves those in need who work and live beyond the physical borders of the church and its grounds, through our church and as individuals. Here are a few of the organizations we support:
Sunday School Outreach Project
This year, the children of the Sunday School have been having fun while hard at work on their special outreach project. They have been in contact with school children in South Africa, exchanging cards and emails. The children decided to raise funds to send children's books. They raised funds by hosting a coffee hour and having a bake sale.
Our children have learned so much about people living in another part of the world!

Weymouth Food Pantry

In addition to financial support, donations of items for the food pantry are collected here the first Sunday of each month, which are then delivered to the Weymouth Food Pantry. You can get more information on the organization on their website, www.weymouthfoodpantry.org/
Youth with a Mission (YWAM)

The Parada family: Alberto, Joanna, Ana, Isaac, Margaret and Phoebe, with deep ties to The Church of the Holy Nativity, are missionaries in South Africa with Youth With a Mission (YWAM). They are sent out by Park Street Church in Boston. They have their own website with updates about their ministry and to provide information about how you can partner with them through prayer and finances. Go to www.paradas.org for more information.
Weymouth Youth and Family Services

The Church of the Holy Nativity partners with Weymouth Youth and Family Services to support local families during difficult times. Annually, we adopt several local families and provide Christmas gifts. We receive wish lists from family members and our congregation purchases whatever they can - anything from toys. sports gear or clothes to gifts cards. The gifts are then wrapped and delivered to Weymouth Youth and Family Services for distribution.
