Who We Are
While traveling around Boston's South Shore, perhaps you've noticed the picturesque stone church near South Shore Hospital that makes you feel like you stepped into the English countryside. If you've seen it, don't be fooled! The beauty would appear to be on the outside, but it's really on the inside. If you haven’t experienced Holy Nativity, we invite you to visit us for a Sunday service to feel the power and witness the beauty that only worship, music, fellowship and education give.
There are two Sunday services, at 8am and 10am. More people attend the 10am service, which includes music, Sunday School for the children, adult education/discussion groups and coffee hour, with nursery care available. The 8am service is more intimate and contemplative. There are also mid-week services for Easter, Lent, Advent and Christmas, as well as a Tuesday morning Eucharist, at 11:30am followed by a light lunch. Many of our parishioners reside in Weymouth, while others live in Abington, Braintree, Rockland and other South Shore communities. All are welcome here!
The main Sunday service at 10am lasts for a little over an hour and includes scripture readings, a sermon relating the readings to the times we live in, music, prayer, and Holy Communion. There are ushers at the door who can help you answer questions and escort you to your seat. Children in kindergarten through grade 5 begin church school at 9:45AM, and then rejoin their families for communion. All are welcome to receive communion. Coffee hour follows the service with light refreshments. For adults, a program of Adult Forums are held throughout the year after the 10am service and coffee time.
